Fleksy Keyboard
Fleksy (free) This one is really impressive. Fleksy makes typing on a touch screen tablet or phone much easier. It was originally designed for those who are visually impaired, but works wonders for those of use who are not accurate typers. The keyboard predicts and self corrects at the same time. Appwriter
- AppWriter ($29.99) This one keeps going up in price, probably because it is so good at what it does. This is a simple word processor with word prediction. Used with the split keyboard, kids with weak spelling skills can actually type fairly quickly. This works as a stand alone, if there is no internet access. When connected, the user can send the finished document to Google Docs/Drive, Dropbox or email as a TXT-attachment. The text can also be copied and pasted into other Apps. This is a great way to move kids from dictation to typing.
Typ-o ($14.99) is another good word prediction app. The big difference between Typ-o and App writer is that users have to cut and paste or use email to get there work to Google Drive. This is not difficult for most users and saves about $15.00 over the cost of App writer. There is a full featured trial available that gives a limited number of free uses. If you like the app, you can upgrade to unlimited use for $9.99. Click on the icon to view the app in itunes.
